Religion Related EBSCO Databases

E-books

If you know the author the title of the eBook that you are looking for, searching for it in the catalog is the easiest thing to do. However, if you are searching for topics that are found within a book--like a chapter or an article--then searching using the vendor's interface can help you find that information. We have four different collections of eBooks, all have some Biblical study material; however, we do have EBSCO's Religion collection which has a large number of books related to Biblical studies.

Finding Journals

When using resource like Religious and Theological Abstracts or bibliographies that you find in other books or journals, you may find an article that you want, but are not sure how to find it.  The first thing you will need is the title of the journal that the article appeared in.  The title is usually underlined or italicized in most bibliographies.  Once you have the title, you will need to search to see if we have the journal. A journal search box is provided above.  Once you have searched for the journal and see that we have the title, you will need to see if the date of the article in within the date range of what we have. If it is, then you will do one of the following:

  • Electronic Resources: keep clicking on the links to follow the trail to the article. Usually, it is a matter of clicking hte journal title then the date range and you keep going until you get the title. Sometimes, you will be taken to a website, and you will have to perform a search within that site to find the article.
  • Print Resources: For print journal titles, you will want to come to the library.  Downstairs is the library's print journal collection. The journals are in alphabetical order by title. So, find the title, then find the year.  Your citation should include a page number and date information. Both of these bits of information are helpful in locating your specific article. For journals, you may copy or check out the journal.
