SS 376 -- Social Science Research Methods: Online Collections

Information

Unlike databases, online collections are collections of either book or journals grouped together either topically or by publisher or vendor.  These differ from databases in that the content may span cover more than one subject, and they also do not provide subject term access to the material. For example, JSTOR provides access to numerous books and journals including those not in the social sciences. (JSTOR also covers the arts and humanities  and the physical sciences as well.)  Access to the material is provided either by searching for titles or, what is more common, basic keyword searching.
