Open Access journals are normally not the first place to look for journal articles for your assignment since the resources that the library provides through its article databases generally is sufficient for your assignments. However, for the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and medicine), Open Access journals may actually work better. This is because these titles tend to be very expensive to acquire using traditional means, and we may have few of these areas represented in our regular databases. So, searching for STEM related content at an open access site may be a good option for you if you can't find the resources you need using the regular databases that we provide.
