Library Basics - Online Edition

Need to find resources for your paper or project? Here's a quick guide that will introduce you to some of the basic resources that you can use for your paper or project. This Online Edition focuses on just the resources that the library provides online.

When using an EBSCO database, you may find an article or another resource that you want to cite in your paper or project.  You can, of course, figure things out by yourself. However, EBSCO does provide a tool that can make citing things easier.  It's their Cite feature.  To use it, do the following:

  • Click on the title of the article or book that you want to get a citation to
  • On the right side of the screen, scroll until you find the Cite button and then click it: Cite button
  • A screen will pop up that provides numerous citations in different styles for that resource. Scroll to the style that you want, and the copy and paste the citation into your document:APA ExampleMLA Citation example
  • One thing to be aware of is that this feature isn't always 100% accurate. So, check with style guide to see if everything is appearing in the citation correctly. Check with your professor if you have any questions.
