One web resource that you can use that may work for some of your assignments is Google Scholar. Unlike a regular Google search, Google Scholar searches journal articles from various academic publishers.  In general, a Google Scholar search should get you more relevant results for your assignment than a regular Google search.  Here's a chart of some of the advantages and disadvantages of Google Scholar:

Advantages Disadvantages
  • Searches a wide array of publishers and journals. You may be able to find something in Google Scholar that you can't find elsewhere.
  • Most of the journal articles are behind a paywall. This means that you won't be able to access the articles unless the publisher has made them open access.
  • Full text is available for some articles. Here's a sample of what a full text link looks like: Google Scholar full text link
  • It's harder to see what Bethel provides unless you're on campus. When you are on campus, you'll see links with the phrase: Full Text Finder.  These are additional resources you have access to, but you may not see them when off campus.
  • Searching is similar to a regular Google search. It's familiarity may make it easier to use.
